On Wednesday 28th October 2009, the first Korean Air’s (KE) freighter from Singapore to Hanoi landed at Noibai airport at 8h30. The inauguration ceremony took place with participation of KE’s high- ranking leaders, aviation officials and KE’s partners. In solemn atmosphere of the ceremony, Mr. Chi/Chang Hoon - Executive Vice President, Mr. Lee/Soon Young Managing - Vice President, The Captain, and Mr. Pham Ngoc Vui - Director of Noibai Cargo Terminal Services JSC (NCTS) together cut the ribbon to officially open the KE’s freighter operated at Noibai airport. The freighter numbered KE358 (inbound) and KE360 (outbound) using aircraft B-747F flies on route of Singapore- Hanoi- Incheon every Wednesday and Friday.
Korean Air is the biggest airlines in South Korea belonged to Hanjin Group and has been operated in Vietnam for more than 10 years. Gaining increasing cargo volume over years, KE decided to run freighter to exploit the new route SIN-HAN-ICN aiming to take the advantage of air cargo transportation development with growing demand in the region
NCTS is appointed to be ground cargo handling company of KE at Noibai airport. Up to now, NCTS has been handling 10 freighter flights per week, which are from China Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific Airways, Eva Airways and KE. KE is the fifth NCTS’ freighter client and also the fifth airlines operating wide-body freighter at Noibai airport.
